*RASEAN DOUJA*

Why you need to know him: Colorado up and comer, Rasean Douja, is all too reminiscent of J.Cole in our opinion. He brings this authentic poetic sound to the Colorado rap game, which manages to make you want to hear more of his story. With each song, you never know what you’re going to get, but it’s highly unlikely Rasean Douja will ever disappoint.

*DELASEAN*

Colorado probably isn't among the states in the union you'd list when thinking about Hip Hop's influence. Denver's Delasean (formerly, Wise One) has set out to change that . The Rap/Hip Hop artist has quickly amassed almost 40,000 fans, several more singles and 75,000 song plays. Delasean was a co-captain on Montbello High School's drum line in his senior year. After performing at a Denver Nugget's basketball game, and numerous other gigs he says drumming, making beats and cadences began to open up a whole new world for him.

"It was then when I started to develop my passion in music; After graduating high school my rapping went from being a hobby to serious business," he said. "Since I was 16-years-old, I had a mission to use my talent and hard work to bring a different type of music. There's not really one define 'Colorado sound', I have an opportunity to create it." It wasn't long before he recorded his first mix tape, Higher Level Thinking (2011) under the name, "Wise One". His lines are expertly executed. So much that it led him connecting with world famous DJ, DJ Rockstar who was impressed with the tape so much he was willing to work with Delasean. In which he hosted Delasean’s most recent mixtape Classic Ordeal. The author says it's not unusual for him to be awakened in the early morning hours by lyrics revealed to him. He says, "That's where I got some of my best work. When it comes to performing it, I always kill it on stage."

Currently a sophomore at Colorado State University, Delasean admits this may be his last year. "My music inspiration, success and skills come from me being dedicated and driven," he explained. "For me, it's a full-time job; I have to make it work."
He has performed before packed-out shows in and outside Denver with the likes of Smoker's Club Tour 2012, MiMs and Funk Volume. "I was watching an early video of Kanye; he said he always knew he was going to make it big...I feel that way, too." Delasean is currently working on a collaborative mixtape called “The Clock In: For Spittas Only” to hype the release of highly anticipated third tape OTG.
